Two Indian nationals killed in bus accident in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: Two Indian citizens have died after being hit by a bus in Bhotebahal, Kathmandu.

The victims, Padam Upadhyay, 45, and Satishkumar Kuswaha, 37, were struck by an Om Janata Transport bus traveling from Kalimati to Tripureshwor, according to Nareshraj Subedi, spokesperson of the Valley Traffic Police Office.

Both victims sustained serious injuries and died last night at the National Trauma Center during treatment, police said.

The bus, registered under number Bagmati Province 3-01-005 Kha 9298, was driven by 35-year-old Man Bahadur Basnet, a resident of Dolakha currently living in Kopan, who has been taken into police custody.

Kalimati Police Post is investigating the incident.
