Vaccines against COVID-19 will be administered to all Nepalis within three months: PM Oli



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has vowed to provide vaccines against COVID-19 to all Nepalis within three months.

PM Oli said this while virtually launching the vaccination drive against COVID-19 on Wednesday morning.

“The government will inoculate all Nepalis within three months,” PM Oli said, adding that all Nepalis will be given vaccines free of cost without any discrimination or bias.”

PM Oli further stated that the government will take taking the initiative to bring more vaccines from India as well as from other countries.

The government of Nepal initiated the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 administering the vaccines that India provided to Nepal in the grant.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, vaccines will be administered from 120 centers across the country including 17 in the Kathmandu Valley on Wednesday.

With the launching of the drive, the people enlisted would be administered with COVID-19 vaccines from 62 hospitals of all seven provinces, 17 hospitals of the capital and over 120 vaccine stations.

Likewise, the COVID vaccines would gradually be administered through 300 vaccine stations of all 77 districts.

Nepali people are receiving the vaccines after a year since the first case of coronavirus infection in the country. Nepal had first spotted coronavirus infection on 23 January 2020.

As informed vaccine stations will be placed in 12 hospitals of Kathmandu, three of Lalitpur and two of Bhaktapur. It may be noted that vaccines have been made available in Nepal with Indian assistance.
