Nepal Police calls on absentee cops to report to office within 7 days

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police Headquarters has issued a notification urging 11 police personnel, who have gone out of contact since August, to report in office within seven days.

The police headquarters made public the list of those absentee cops Sunday, warning that failing to report within the specified period would result in removal from service.

Among the absentees is Sub-inspector Chandra Dev Joshi of Bardiya District Police Office. According to police, Joshi, who hails from Godavari in Kailali, has not been in touch since August 8.

Similarly, police constables Haribhakta Rai, Shiva Bahadur Jarga Magar, Suman Bhandari, Khagendra Thapa Magar, Bir Bahadur Bhandari, Binod Budhakshetri, Anil Kumar Gurung, Padam Bahadur Thapa Shrees and Dambar Dayal have not reported to their respective offices for long.
