KATHMANDU: Nepal National Traders’ Federation has urged Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to ensure vaccines immediately to industrialists and traders so that country’s economy would be made dynamic.

A team led by Federation Chair Naresh Katuwal met with PM Deuba at his residence, Baluwatar, this morning and apprised him of the country’s economy suffered much with Covid-19. Safety to industrialists is imperative to restore the dwindled economy, he added.

The PM was demanded to fully write off the interest for traders and industrialists during the lockdown period and create an atmosphere to provide loans to the industries without mortgage and at subsidized rate.

On the occasion, Federation Vice-Chair and former Chair of Koteshwor Trade Association, Saroj Thapa, suggested the government that it formed a coordination committee for the cooperation between government and private sector.

Similarly, other areas featured during the meeting were easy refinancing, a 50 percent discount on the interest rate for the coming two years, and the introduction of a mandatory policy for the banks and financial institutions to invest 50 percent in the productive sectors.

The team congratulated PM Deuba and also stressed the need of ensuring economic activities via electronic medium.
