Call to make NC general convention amicable

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) central member Arjun Narsingh KC has urged to make the party’s 14th general convention amicable by not viewing the internal election in terms of victory and defeat.

At a tea party organized by Nuwakot NC district president Jagadishwar Narasingh KC in Kathmandu on Saturday, former joint general secretary KC suggested selecting the party leadership based on characteristics, leadership qualities, performance and orientation to public service instead of factional loyalties.

He stressed that leaders and cadres should not be evaluated in terms of their political affinities and factional loyalties within the party.

He emphasized that the election held during the party’s convention should not be construed for prestige as the NC’s real competition was with the Communists.

Leader KC said, “Elections in the general convention is a democratic exercise. The winner should move forward by embracing the loser, and if the loser should move forward trusting the winner as a leader. Such brotherhood will bring warmth to the party.”
