KATHMANDU: The Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund has accumulated Rs 13.54 billion so far, according to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
The office said Rs 282.14 million was deposited into the fund after 5:00 pm on September 11. The amount was deposited into accounts maintained by the fund at nine different banks.
The government has already released Rs 1 billion from the fund through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority to support flood victims.
Meanwhile, contributions to the fund’s dollar-denominated accounts at two banks have also continued to rise. According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, an additional USD 154,770 was deposited after 5:00 pm on September 11, bringing the total balance in the dollar accounts to USD 23.438 million.
