Bicycle trekkers’ team reaches Damauli for tourism promotion



DAMAULI: A team of bicycle trekkers has arrived at Tanahun district headquarters, Damauli, as part of their campaign to revitalize coronavirus-battered tourism sector.

The bicycle riders have arrived here under the leadership of popular world cyclist and adventurer, Pushkar Shah. The bicycle trek that started from Antu of Ilam would reach the Rara Lake in Mugu.

Shah said the ride would believably contribute to revitalize our bruised tourism industry.

Also included in the team of riders is Binod Sapkota, a youth from Damauli. He also highlighted their motive to make publicity of tourism sector that has now been adversely affected in the cusp of pandemic.

The riders’ team would reach the Rara Lake within four weeks through 28 districts.

The expedition team comprises 50 new and experienced cyclists. As informed the team would ride 1,800-km distance during their campaign.

Byas municipality welcomed the team of bicycle trekkers who has set the journey with the slogan ‘Let us bridge the relations, visit the country’. On the occasion, municipality mayor Baikuntha Neupane urged the cyclists to make wider publicity of Damauli as the birthplace of saga Byas during their ride campaign.
