NEPSE increases by 92.16 points today



KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange Ltd (NEPSE) has increased by 92.16 points on Wednesday.

With today’s increment, the index has reached 2507.70 points.

A total of 8.10 million shares of 233 companies traded today resulting in a turnover of Rs 4.523 billion.

All subgroups have increased today. Banking group increased by 37 points, trade by 202 points, hotels, and tourism by 103 points, development banks by 230 points, hydropower by 162 points, finance by 74 points, non-life insurance by 487 points, manufacturing by 452 points, others by 64 points, microfinance by 182 points and life insurance subgroup by 502 points.

Share prices of 186 companies increased while the share price of two companies decreased today.

The value of a company remained stable. The value of the 4 companies has increased by 10 percent.

Prices of Arun Valley Hydro, Barun, Upper Tamakoshi, and Shivam Cement increased by 10 percent. Swabhiman Microfinance, Sagarmatha Insurance increased 9.9 percent.

Himalayan Distillery was ahead in terms of turnover. The adoption of some measures to resolve the liquidity crisis has had a positive impact on the market.

The government has made arrangements to deposit 80 percent of the amount at the local level in the form of bank deposits.

Similarly, NRB has made an arrangement to deposit up to 100 percent cash in the bank according to the nature of the goods while opening the LC of imported goods.

As a result, the stock market has increased amid speculation of some easing in liquidity.
