Family of elephant-killed couple to receive Rs 2 mln as compensation



KANCHANPUR: The Provincial Government of Sudurpashchim has decided to provide Rs 2 million to the families of a couple killed by an elephant in Kanchanpur.

Minister for Social Development Lal Bahadur Khadka said the families of the deceased couple would be given Rs 2 million (Rs 1 million each) in compensation.

Dwaj Bahadur Karki, 55 and his wife Madhurala, 45, were killed in Shuklaphanta municipality-12, Basantapur on Wednesday morning.
