Police arrest three persons, including Jwala Sangroula



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three persons, including Jwala Sangroula, Sunday.

The Metropolitan Police Range (MPR), Teku, took them under custody acting on a complaint filed by Khusbu Ghimire, a central member of National Youth Federation.

Sangroula’s group had attacked Khusbu while she was in the custody of Gaushala Police Station on May 30.

The other two arrested have been identified as Himal Upadhyay and Sharmila Waiba of Sangroula’s group.

SP Ramesh Basnet of MPR, Teku, said preparations were underway to file cases of physical assault and indecent behavior against the three. They could also be charged for assaulting the police.

Police had called both groups for mediation today.
