KATHMANDU: Project Hope, leading global health and humanitarian organization based in Washington, D.C has provided medical supplies to partner organization Pratiman-Neema Memorial Foundation (PNMF), a non-profit organization based in Rupandehi district of Lumbini Province worth $660,240.30.
Acting upon the appeal made by the Pratiman-Neema Memorial Foundation to help in countering the deadly second wave of COVID-19 pandemic and preparedness for the Third Wave, the Project HOPE, with partner organizations Airlink, Flexport.org, Henry Schein Cares, and MedShare supported large shipments of medical supplies through a charter flight to Nepal.
Project Hope provided 20,000 pieces of Gown Insolation, 19440 pieces of Face Shield, 70,000 pieces of Masks, 15,000 N95 Masks, 40 pieces of Digital Thermometers, 15,750 pieces of Protective Face Shield, 2,304 pieces of PPE Coveralls (Medium), 2,304 pieces of PPE Coverall (Large), 30 pieces of Emergency Relief Beds, 1,400,000 pieces of Gloves (Disposable) and 1,28,000 pieces of KN95 Mask.
The total value of the donated Supplies is USD 660,240.30 and the total cost of the chartered flight is $290,000 with Airlink partner Flexport.org providing a significant contribution through the Flexport.org Fund.
Project HOPE organized the donation of the supplies and handed over to PNMF to provide support to health care workers and the Government of Nepal which will dispense the aid across the local health system.

Pratiman-Neema Memorial Foundation received a large donation of supplies to strengthen the government health care system and provide support to the health workers who are at the frontline fighting the deadly coronavirus.
The items will be distributed to all 7 provinces of Nepal.
In addition, Project HOPE also supported the Pratiman-Neema Memorial Foundation with health assistance of USD 2,30,000. The medical supplies included an oxygen cylinder, oxygen concentrator, oxygen regulator PPE Medical gown, masks, face shields, surgical caps, surgical gloves, sanitizer, medical tents, BIPAP and CIPAP machine, ICU bed, and mattresses.
With the growing concerns related to the spread of the COVID-19 in Nepal, PNMF in the first wave supported the Government of Nepal by converting its office building to quarantine and holding center to help the stranded people on the Nepal-India border.
Around 27000 people in Nepal-India border sites received service and assistance through the quarantine and holding center. The foundation also supported the government with PPE sets including protective gears and hygiene kits to the Government Hospitals.
To support the government to create frontline responders to fight against COVID-19, PNMF partnered with Project HOPE to deliver an international online training program in Nepal to “Strengthen Health Workforce Preparedness and Response” to COVID-19 and “Vaccination Training”.
More than 5000 front liners, medical health professionals from all 7 provinces have been provided the training program.
