GUJARAT: At least 13 people were killed when a truck ran over some 18 people sleeping on a footpath near Surat in Gujarat on Tuesday morning.
The victims, mostly daily laborers from Rajasthan’s Banswara, were sleeping on the footpath when a tractor crashed into another truck.
The truck driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road running over 18 people who were sleeping there, Indian media reports said.
13 of them died on the spot while the injured were rushed to a hospital.
