Nepal-Khanal faction concludes national conclave declaring 17-point resolution

KATHMANDU: The two-day national conclave of the disgruntled faction of the CPN-UML ended endorsing a 17-point resolution Thursday.

On the second day of the meeting, the 17-point proposal submitted by UML Vice-Chairman Bhim Rawal was passed after discussion.

The proposal has mentioned that various decisions taken by Chairman KP Oli on March 11 as a special meeting of the Central Committee would be rejected.

Similarly, the national conference has welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to dissolve the parliament but disagreed with the decision to revive the UML and the CPN (Maoist Center).

Stating that Chairman Oli had publicly threatened not to attend the meeting, the conference urged Oli not to abuse the party for the sake of factionalism and power. It has also demanded a reliable arrangement of COVID-19.

Leader Nepal had presented a concept paper at the meeting. Discussions were held by forming 10 different teams.

Similarly, the front has also announced to revive party committees across the country.

Addressing participants on Thursday, the last day of the convention, leader Ghanshyam Bhusal said that the committees would be formed under the coordination of the leaders of his faction.

He said that the “UML could save the party and defeat Oli-ism if we worked together for a month”.
