Koirala terms HoR dissolution regressive

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala has termed Prime Minister KP Oli’s move to dissolve the House of Representatives (HoR) as a retrograde.

Speaking at a seminar in Morang on Saturday, leader Koirala accused that the Supreme Court (SC) is being pressed to rule in favor of the election.

“Prime Minister Oli thinks that what he has said is the constitution, but the Nepali people do not accept it,” Koirala said, “Therefore, a strong movement is needed in the country once again to safeguard the nation, nationality, democracy, and constitution.”

Koirala said that the movement for the re-establishment of the House of Representatives was not moving as fast as it should.

“We will accept the decision of the Supreme Court, but before the decision is made, the movement for reinstatement must be intensified,” he said.
