Foreign tourist arrivals by air rise in first half of 2026

KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded an increase in foreign tourist arrivals by air during the first six months of 2026, according to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

NTB data show that 620,453 foreign tourists arrived in Nepal by air between January and June 2026, compared to 577,689 during the same period in 2025.

The tourism board attributed the growth to the expansion of international flights to and from Kathmandu.

According to NTB statistics, Nepal welcomed 92,573 foreign tourists in January, followed by 105,441 in February, 102,516 in March, 107,934 in April, 102,626 in May, and 91,363 in June.

The figures indicate continued growth in Nepal’s tourism sector, with improved international air connectivity contributing to the rise in visitor arrivals.
