KATHMANDU: Rainfall will take place in most of the places of the country this week, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said.

The monsoon is to remain active throughout the country this week, Department said adding that the monsoon will become active this week as well since the monsoon low-pressure system is close to the Tarai region.

Senior Meteorologist at the Department Barun Poudel said that the rainfall will take place in most of the places of the country this week.

He stated that the rainfall will take place at separate places on different days.

“Rainfall will not occur continuously,” he said adding that there will be sunshine for some time and rainfall for some time alternatively.

Likewise, the Department has also urged for adopting the necessary precaution as there is a risk of occurrence of landslides and mudslides in the hilly region as well as the transport sector becoming affected due to the possible rise in the water level in the big and small rivers and rivulets.

The weather will be generally to completely cloudy in most of the places of the country on Sunday with chances of light to moderate rainfall in many places.

Likewise, heavy rainfall is likely in few places of Province 1, 2, Bagmati province, Lumbini province, and Gandaki province.
