KATHMANDU: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Parbat Gurung on Thursday bade farewell to the “Three Sisters on Seven Summit Campaign’ by handing them the national flag of Nepal.
The three sisters who have set an ambitious goal of climbing all the seven tallest peaks in the world are Nima Jangbu Sherpa, 30, Tshiring Namge Sherpa, 26, and Dawa Futi Sherpa, 24, of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality-9 in Dolakha district. They are scheduled to climb all seven tallest peaks of the seven continents. The Sherpa sisters have aimed to complete their goal within three years.
Bidding farewell to the climbers, Minister Gurung, who is also the Spokesperson of the government, pledged full support and solidarity on behalf of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to make their feat a success.
