BUTWAL: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the government was always ready for cooperation with private sectors for the country’s development.
Development is not achieved with the lone efforts of government, he said, reiterating that the government has given priority to cooperation with the private sector.
Laying the foundation stone to Lumbini Cable Car Service to be constructed from Butwal Sub-metropolis-3 to Basantapur of Tinau Rural Municipality, Palpa, here today, PM Oli lauded the constructors’ commitment to accomplish the cable car in a year. “Government is ready for assistance in this regard,” PM Oli vowed.
“Pay tax, gain profit,” he reminded the private sectors, stating that development is for all sides which must ensure happiness to people. The government has assisted the private sector by providing land, constructing necessary roads and tracks for any venture, the PM shared.
Similarly, PM Oli hoped this project would help boost Nepal’s tourism which suffered worst due to Covid-19. The cable car would be a good choice among the domestic and international tourists visiting Lumbini, he viewed.
Moreover, the PM said the scientific fact established on the trace of teeth of primitive people Ramapithecus dating back to 10 million years has made this place historic. Such provenance of human civilization should be developed with infrastructures. Butwal is also a religious place emanating wisdom, he stressed.
On the occasion, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel said development endeavors in Butwal had got accelerated and amidst this progress, the Lumbini Cable Car could be a role model, and achievement to this effect could be achieved soon.
Lumbini Province Minister Shankar Pokhrel said the development was for all and we, the Lumbini folks, were happy for the project.
Lumbini Cable Car Pvt Chair and IME Group chair Chandra Prasad Dhakal said the project aimed to develop the area as a historic and touristic destination and eventually to uplift the people’s living standard and achieve prosperity.
Project founding member Ramesh Sharma expressed his happiness that the project, though after long, took momentum.
Butwal Sub-Metropolis chief Shivaraj Subedi and Tinau rural municipality chief Om Bahadur Gharti were hopeful that the project would significantly contribute to the development of local tourism.
The route of the three-kilometer project is from Bamghat to the Basantapur Cliff which will have advanced hotels, parks, and religious structures.
