Youths’ role crucial in nation-building: PM Deuba



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the youth’s role was important in guiding the nation.

While extending a best wishes message on the occasion of International Youth Day today, Prime Minister Deuba said that the thoughts of the youth prepare the future foundation of the upcoming generations and the nation as well.

He also said that the government was always keeping the youth’s courage and hard work in high priority. In a virtual program here today, PM Deuba urged all to join hands in the government’s plans and programs in making the nation developed and prosperous.

Prime Minister Deuba also urged the youths to explore virgin areas and suggest the government adopt an appropriate policy to materialize them in action.

He urged all youths to participate in each state organ. PM said. “The day may unite all youths from different communities, genders, religions across the world.”

On this occasion, the secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Kamal Prasad Pokharel stressed the need for the implementation of various programs launched for enhancing efficiencies of youths and for linking their capacities with entrepreneurship.

Stating that hundreds of people have gone for foreign employments on a daily basis, secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Surya Prasad Gautam urged utilization of skills and energy of youths by creating job opportunities in the country itself.

The International Youth Day has been observed across the globe since 2000 after the United Nations in 1999 decided to celebrate the Day on August 12.

In Nepal, the Day has been observed since 2004.
