452 to be decorated with medals on Baisakh 1



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari is to honour 452 persons with various decorations, titles and medals on the first day of New Year 2078.

The ceremony will take place on Baisakh 1 i.e. April 14 at the Rastrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas, according to a statement issued by the Decorations Committee.

The Committee is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Iswar Pokharel with Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Prof. Dr Meena Baidya, Prof Dr Indrajit Rai, Harihar Sharma, Kasendra Prasad Yadav and Major General Binod Kumar Shrestha as members.

Home Secretary Maheswar Neupane is the member-secretary. The decorations include one Suprasiddha Prabal Janasewashree first class, three Suprasiddha Prabal Janasewashree second class, seven Sukirtimaya Rastradip third class, 86 Suprasiddha Prabal Janasewashree third class, eight Kirtimaya Rastradip fourth class, 242 Prabal Janasewashree fourth class, 104 Janasewashree fifth class, 114 Alankar and 27 medals.

The decorations and medals are being provided on the recommendation of the Government of Nepal, Council of Ministers.
