President Bhandari performs worship on Chhath festival



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari reached Kamalpokhari of Kathmandu and performed worship by offering argha (curd) to the Sun Wednesday evening on the occasion of Chhath festival.

President Bhandari, who participated in Chhath worship event organised by Kathmandu Metropolitan City, also visited Chhathimai.

Chairperson of KMC-1, Bharat Lal Shrestha, said that no other programme apart from worship was conducted by President Bhandari this time.

The Head of the State usually visits Kamalpokahri and performs worship on the occasion of Chhath festival. Kamalpohari has been decorated and illuminated on the occasion.

A large number of devotees had gathered at Kamalpokhari to offer argha to the setting Sun.
