DOHA: Twenty-four Nepali migrant workers have returned home after serving a jail-term in Malaysia.
The Malaysian government had incarcerated them in the foreign country for violating the law of the country.
According to the Nepali Embassy in Malaysia, they were sent back home after fulfilling the legal processes.
The International Organization for Migration, an institute that works for the welfare of the migrant workers, had provided airline tickets for them.
The Malaysian government itself had conducted PCR screenings on them at the initiation of the Nepali Embassy.
They had flown to Kathmandu from Kuala Lumpur via a flight of Himalaya Airlines.
Nepali migrant workers face prison terms after they quit their companies to join other companies, due to overstay, misdemeanor among other reasons.
Earlier, the Nepali Embassy had sent back home 136 Nepali migrant workers who had served a jail-term in Malaysia.
Around 350,000 Nepali people (including both legal and illegal) are saying in Malaysia, currently, according to the Nepali Embassy.
