At least eight killed, several injured in Salyan bus accident



SALYAN: At least eight people have died in a passenger bus accident in Salyan district.

An ill-fated bus, Ra 1 Kha 2552, heading to Tulsipur from Khalanga, the district headquarters of Salyan, met with an accident at Tharkhola of Kapurkot rural municipality-5 on Sunday morning.

According to the District Police Office, Salyan, five died on the spot while three others breathed their last while being rushed to hospital. The identities of the deceased have not been ascertained, said police.

About 40 people were traveling in the bus. The bus had fallen 200 meters down the road into a rivulet, said police.

A rescue team has been deployed to the accident site and are carrying out rescue works.
