KATHMANDU: The Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most visited temples of all hindus, is going to be open for the coming September 17.
According to Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa, the Member Secretary of the Pashupatinath Area Development Trust (PADT), the Trust decided to reopen the Pashupatinath Temple, which was closed to the public due to the ban imposed to prevent coronavirus pandemic spread.
Member Secretary Thapa said that the temple will be open for the visitors from September 17.
However, the visitors have to abide by the health safety protocols set by the Ministry of Health and Population.
Until now, only regular worship has been held at Pashupatinath.
The second wave of the corona virus epidemic began in April and was closed to the public. The main temple of Pashupatinath, Devalaya Shivalaya and Guhyeshwari were closed for devotees.
Member Secretary Thapa said that the Pashupati area will be opened by maintaining physical distance and adopting health security standards from August 20.
The Pashupatinath temple was closed to devotees after the coronavirus pandemic outbreak in Nepal in March 2020. After 10 months, the temple was opened for the devotees from December, 2020.
