Police take 219 motorcycles sans number plates under control



KATHMANDU: The Metropolitan Traffic Police has seized 219 motorcycles sans number plates.

According to SSP Janak Bhattarai, the chief of Metropolitan Traffic Police Division, the Division has seized 165 vehicles sans number plates and 54 motorcycles with obscure number plates.

SSP Bhattarai informed that the traffic police conducted a special check operation against the motorcycles which did not have registered number plates, had obscure number plates, temporary number places or the crooked number plates.

The Department is of the view that the campaign will play an important role in curbing criminal activities such as traffic rules violation, fleeing after accident and looting during festivals and crowds.
