NRN South Korea donates medical supplies to Nepal

SEOUL: The essential medical supplies procured from the monetary assistance of the Non-Resident Nepalis in South Korea for COVID-19 response efforts have been handed over to Nepal.

The medical goods worth around 5 million Korean Won (equivalent to around Rs 5.2 million) consist of 100,000 sets of surgical masks, 300 PPE sets, 240 bottles of sanitizers, 500 oximeters, and various medicines, according to Non-Resident Nepali Association Korea’s general-secretary Bimal Subedi.

The medical supplies were brought to Nepal on June 4 in the Korean Air flight along with 112 stranded Nepalis. The Korean Air had ferried those healthcare appliances for free of cost in coordination with the Nepali Embassy in Seoul, South Korea, and KME Travels, shared Subedi.

From the donated amount, the NRN-South Korea had also purchased 17 sets of oxygen concentrators which were procured from China, according to Subedi.

The Nepali Embassy in Seoul, issuing a press statement, has extended gratitude towards the Nepalis in South Korea for their solidarity in Nepal’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
