Nirala’s demise a great loss to judicial sector, SC says



KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has said that the country has lost a true justice supporter from the demise of a member of the Judicial Council and senior advocate Laxmi Bahadur Nirala Khadka.

An emergency meeting of all justices along with Chief Justice, Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana, held today said that Nirala’s death has been an irreparable loss to the judicial sector.

A press release issued by Joint-Spokesperson of the Supreme Court after the meeting reads, “The nation has lost the true justice supporter from the demise of Laxmi Bahadur Nirala Khadka, active in the sector of law and justice for around 53 years.”

Wishing for eternal peace to the departed soul, the meeting extended condolences to the bereaved family members by observing one minute’s silence.

Also the former Attorney General, Khadka died of Corona Virus on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at APF Hospital, Balambu. He was appointed as a member of the Judicial Council on January 7, 2020.
