Major foreign currencies gain against Nepali rupee



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has published the foreign exchange rates for Thursday, with most major currencies, including the US dollar and the euro, strengthening against the Nepali rupee.

According to the central bank, the buying rate of one US dollar has been fixed at Rs 151.17 and the selling rate at Rs 151.77. Likewise, one euro is being traded at a buying rate of Rs 171.49 and a selling rate of Rs 172.18.

The buying rate of one UK pound sterling has been set at Rs 198.94, while the selling rate stands at Rs 199.73.

Among Gulf currencies, the Saudi Arabian riyal is being exchanged at a buying rate of Rs 40.27 and a selling rate of Rs 40.43. Similarly, the Qatari riyal has a buying rate of Rs 41.47 and a selling rate of Rs 41.64.

The buying rate of the Malaysian ringgit has been fixed at Rs 36.53 and the selling rate at Rs 36.68.

Meanwhile, the buying rate of Indian currency has been set at Rs 160 per 100 Indian rupees, while the selling rate stands at Rs 160.15.

Nepal Rastra Bank stated that exchange rates may be revised at any time as required. Rates quoted by commercial banks may differ from those published by the central bank.
