Health Minister inspects vaccination centers in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada inspected various vaccination centers set up at gateways to the Kathmandu Valley today.

The Ministry had launched a vaccination drive against COVID-19 since November 2 targeting those leaving Kathmandu Valley during the Tihar festival.

Vaccine centers were set up at Koteshwor, Gongabu, and Kalanki.

Health Minister Khatiwada visited the center in Koteshwor and Balkhu and said that vaccination was effective in minimizing the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pledging that more vaccination centers would be set up after the Tihar festival, the Minister shared that such centers would be set up in other places as well.

According to him, the government was going to procure 10 million vaccines from various countries which would be administered to children.

On November 2, some 3,000 people got vaccinated. An additional 10,000 are estimated to receive the jab, the Ministry said.

Meanwhile, another vaccination center has been set up at Gwarko, Lalitpur today.
