NRA urges beneficiaries to claim reconstruction grant within mid-November



KATHMANDU: The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has urged the beneficiaries to obtain remaining installment of their reconstruction grant within mid-November this year.

Whoever has not inked agreement with the NRA for grant assistance (Rs 300,000 to be provided in three installments) or those entering agreement with the NRA but not been able to get any installments grant assistance have been appealed again to prompt into action to get their quake-damaged houses rebuilt, the NRA said.

All the beneficiaries have been asked to do the necessary paperwork within stipulated time to receive the grant. The District Project Implementation Unit will facilitate the beneficiaries in their paperwork and further procedures.

Likewise, the NRA’s recent meeting has also urged the residents at natural disasters-prone areas and those landless quake-survivors who have not been able to purchase land to rebuild houses within mid-September this year. The beneficiaries completing all the paperwork shall secure all three tranches of grant assistance within mid-November.

The meeting of the NRA’s Director Committee convened on June 24 in the chairmanship of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli decided on the deadline for the reconstruction grant not to further extend the reconstruction process.
