Five youths held with 1.4 kg gold from TIA



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested five individuals with 1.4 kilograms of gold from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint police team from Metropolitan Crime Division and Airport Custom Office nabbed them with the gold from the TIA today.

The arrested are Janak Khadka, of Gulmi, Yam Lal Khanal of Pyuthan, Raju BK of Kaski, Dhan Bahadur Tamang and Sunil Tamang of Nuwakot, informed police.

They were arrested while they were trying to smuggle gold into Nepal by concealing it inside sound boxes via various different flights, said police.

Police said they are investigating the case after taking them under control.
