I will resign once you pull out of govt: PM Oli tells opposition

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said he will immediately tender his resignation once the opposition party withdraws its support to the incumbent government.

He has given such a challenge while inaugurating 165 road networks across the country in Baluwatar this morning.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Oli lashed out at the national daily broadsheets, saying that the distribution of Melamchi water in Kathmandu did not make headlines but the resignation of the Prime Minister.

“The opposition parties are demanding my resignation,” said Oli, adding, “How can I resign when they have not withdrawn their support to the government?” questioned Oli.

“I will immediately tender my resignation as the Prime Minister once they pull out of the government,” said Oli, challenging the opposition parties to do so.

Likewise, PM Oli has accused the opposition forces of conspiring against the government by spreading misleading information.

He also remarked that those who called the government a dictatorial did not understand its meaning. “What is a dictatorship?” Those who act against democracy are called dictators and fascists. We are not carrying out any activities against the democracy,” claimed Oli.

Prime Minister said the government is not paying attention to such allegations but focused on the welfare of the people, development, and prosperity of the country.
