Acting Chief Commissioner Joshi resigns



KATHMANDU: Acting Chief Commissioner of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Ganesh Raj Joshi has resigned from his post.

The spokesperson of the President’s Office Jagannath Pant informed that Joshi submitted his resignation to President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Wednesday afternoon.

With Joshi’s resignation, there is now a vacancy in the authority. Joshi, who was appointed as the commissioner of the authority on April 2, 2015, was retiring on April 1 due to his six-year tenure.

On Wednesday morning, newly appointed Chief Commissioner Prem Kumar Rai and Commissioners Jaya Bahadur Chand and Kumar Silwal have already taken the oath of office and secrecy.

Rai, Chand and Silval have taken the oath of office and secrecy at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas.
