KATHMANDU: ‘Walk the Talk’: Health for All Challenge, an annual event launched by the World Health Organization with the aim of encouraging people to be physically active and mentally well for their own health and that of others, has concluded in Pokhara Saturday.
The event concluded after a team of participants including Dr Rajesh Sambhajirao Pandav, WHO Representative to Nepal, walked around two kilometers from Barahighat to Bangladi in Pokhara.
On the occasion, Dr Pandav said walk is an integral part for people to live a busy and health life. He also said that he was attracted to the beauty of the tourist city, Pokhara. “I find Pokhara beautiful. Mountains and lakes here are enticing.”
Launched in 2018 coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the WHO, the campaign has already been organized in Lumbini, Kathmandu, Karnali and Janakpur, said Communication officer, WHO, Nepal, Sudhan Gyawali.
The event was participated by around 50 people, including WHO Representative, and those from every walk of life.
