NA mobilized in Jhapa to create awareness against COVID-19



JHAPA: A team of Nepal Army has been mobilized in local units of Jhapa district to create awareness against COVID-19.

The NA person have been deployed to create awareness in  Mechinagar, Bhadrapur municipality, Kachankabal, Gauriganj, and Jhapa rural municipality, informed Colonel Amarjung Thapa, the chef of Shree Nath Battalion based in Charali of Jhapa.

The NA had also been mobilized in Kachankabal rural municipality of Jhapa when the infection cases of COVID-19 spiked last year.

Holding centers set up

NA has started building holding centers at eastern checkpoint Kakadvitta bordering India. A squad led by Captain Bijaya Niraula is building a holding center on the sports ground at Kakadvitta since Friday.

Similarly, as many as 44 outposts have been established along the 144.4 km Nepal-India border area in Jhapa.

Meanwhile, Chief District Officer (CDO) of Jhapa has decided to impose a prohibitory order in the district to prevent and control the COVID-19.

Issuing a press note, CDO Shrawan Kumar Timalsina has informed that the prohibitory order will come into force starting Sunday and urged one and all to stay indoors except for essential works during the period.
