Five held for forcing women into sex trade



BHAKTAPUR: Police have arrested five persons on the charge of forcing women into sex work.

They are Shyam Kumar Bhattarai, 24, of Sunkoshi rural municipality-7, Sindhuli, currently living at Gokarneshwor municipality of Kathmandu; Suhana Tamang, 19, of Gyangle rural municipality-3, currently living at Makalbari; Prakash Dhungel, 52, living at Gokarneshwor municipality-5; Muna Thapa Magar, 31, of Suryagadhi municipality-4, currently living at Makalbari; and Raj Kumar Sunar, 47, living at Kageshwori Manahara municipality-1 of Kathmandu, according to the Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur.

A team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, arrested them from Gokarna on the charge of forcing the girls and women alluring them of job in hotel and cloth shops.

The accused were made public today, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Deepak Giri.
