CAAN launches CUPPS at TIA

KATHMANDU: Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has officially launched Common Use Passenger Processing system (CUPPS) at the Tribhuvan International Airport, the only international airport in the country, from Thursday.

This is a passenger processing system aimed at improving efficiency, integrity and usability at the busy airports.

Integrated with self-check in (CUSS), and self-baggage drop (SBD), the CAAN has replaced SITA’s Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE) by AIRINC’s CUPPS.

The system has been increasingly used especially in constrained airports to improve efficiency, increase capacity, and to ensure integrity and usability, said a press note issued by CAAN.
