KATHMANDU: Main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has urged Oli and Prachanda-Nepal factions of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) to settle their internal disputes at the earliest stating that the parliament and the nation cannot be taken hostage for a long time.
The dilemma over whether to legally split the NCP party has put the future power equation on hold.
NC has advised to resolve the interparty dispute even by bringing the same ordinance introduced earlier by Prime Minister KP Oli in the form of a bill hinting that it would help to pass it.
“The parliament and the country should not be taken hostage for a long time,” said NC leader Minendra Rijal, adding, “Either resolve the interparty dispute at the earliest or bring the previous ordinance in the form of a bill if the party cannot remain united. We will support to pass the bill.”
Oli is in favor of the ordinance, not the bill. He intends to end the parliament session after running it for a few days and then introduce the ordinance which Rijal does not concur with.
