Landslide blocks Siddhicharan Highway

KATHMANDU: Mirchaiya-Katari road section under the Siddhicharan Highway has been obstructed due to a landslide since Thursday night.

The road was obstructed after the monsoon-triggered landslide occurred at Chure area on the Udayapur-Siraha border.

The landslides have occurred in various places hitting the traffic movement including ambulances carrying patients, said Chief District Officer Chakrapani Pandey.

Pandey further said Lahan Road Department which is responsible for clearing the debris has been asked to clear the debris.

Police said transport cannot be brought into operation until the weather clears.
