Wangchuk, who inspired ‘3 Idiots’ movie, wants Indians to win China through wallet power

MUMBAI: Sonam Wangchuk, the man who inspired Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 3 Idiots, has advised Indians on winning a war against China on two fronts.

The first one he suggested was through Army and his second suggestion was through people’s boycott of Chinese companies.

Wangchuk, an engineer turned education reformer, has asked Indian people to boycott everything made by China.

“Give up all Chinese software in a week, all Chinese hardware in a year,” Wangchuk said.

He added that the boycott should be turned into a movement against China’s increasing aggression.

Saying that Indian soldiers are fighting them and Indian people continue to buy Chinese hardware and use software like the TikTok app. This means that Indian people are giving them business worth crores because of which China can arm its soldiers to fight against India, he argued.

He, in fact, rooted for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s push for ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’. Wangchuk also said he was giving up his Chinese-made iPhone.

According to Wangchuk, China’s recent moves at the border and in the South China Sea have been used as a distraction tool for Chinese people due to failures of the Xi Jinping’s administration.

He added that the Indo-Sino war of 1962 was also one of the tactic by the Chinese govt to shift Chinese citizens’ attention away from its failures.

Wangchuk is the person who inspired Phunsukh Wangdu’s character which was played by Aamir Khan in the Bollywood blockbuster ‘3 Idiots’ film.
