Constitution amendment proposal by Janata Samajwadi Party not registered

KATHMANDU: The Parliament Secretariat has refused to register a constitution amendment proposal by Janata Samajwadi Party.

On behalf of the party, leader Mahanta Thakur had reached the Parliament Secretariat with the proposal to amend the constitution.

However, the Parliament Secretariat declined to register it saying that it needs to discuss with Speaker.

The party has been demanding an amendment to the constitution on the provisions of boundaries of Provinces, language and citizenship among others.

An attempt was made to register the amendment proposal on the issues.
