Govt mulling to extend lockdown

KATHMANDU: The government is mulling to extend the current nationwide lockdown up to 21 days.

Assessing the current situation of the COVID-19 outbreak, the government has directed all the Chief District Officers to enforce the lockdown until a final report of all the people entering Nepal through land and air routes arrives.

The current lockdown is expiring on March 31 and it is likely to be extended to match it with the lockdown enforced by India, sources said.

India has enforced complete 21-day lockdown across the nation as a means to combat coronavirus.
