Tara Air rescues tourists from Lukla

KATHMANDU:  Tara Air has successfully airlifted tourists stranded at Lukla Airport amidst lockdown on Friday.

The special flight was conducted at the request of the Australian Embassy in Kathmandu to rescue its citizens.

The Viking 400 Twin Otter with registration 9N-ALO took off early in the morning and landed back at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu at 9:30 am with the tourists.

This is Tara Air’s second rescue flight after the government imposed lockdown in its effort to contain corona virus spread.

Tara Air conducted a similar mission yesterday from Lukla Airport.
