Home Minister directs security personnel for effective role to combat COVID-19

KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa on Thursday said that security personnel should work effectively to ward off infection of COVID-19 pandemic.

While directing Nepal Police Chief IGP Thakur Prasad Gyawali and newly-appointed AIGs, Home Minister Thapa stressed that security personnel should work with more responsibility to combat COVID-19 pandemic.

“The country is currently facing a crisis caused by the coronavirus. Security bodies should be more responsible in such a situation,” Home Minister Thapa said, “It is testing time for us. Effectively implement the lockdown order made to combat COVID-19.”

Minister Thapa added that the law enforcement agency should monitor and take action to control black marketeering thrived amid COVID-19 scare.
