Minister Gyawali holds meeting with HR High Commissioner Bachelet



KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali held a meeting with the High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet on the sidelines of the 43rd Session of Human Rights Council in Geneva today.

During the occasion, Minister Gyawali reiterated Nepal’s commitment to human rights.

Meanwhile, addressing the High-level Segment of the 43rd Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, he also expressed Nepal’s commitment to climate change and global warming.

Minister Gyawali talked about Nepal’s opinions about crucial human rights issues including the rights of children, women, and people with disabilities.

Stating that Nepal presents a unique case of a home-grown and successful peace process, Minister Gyawali expressed the commitment to concluding the transitional justice process in an equally unique way, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Gyawali also informed about Nepal’s initiation of a multi-stakeholder global dialogue forum ‘Sagarmatha Sambaad’, to be hosted in Kathmandu in April this year.
