KATHMANDU: The government has assigned five hospitals in Kathmandu for the treatment of patients suffering from coronavirus.

The Ministry of Health and Population has assigned Sukraraj Tropical & Infectious Disease Hospital in Teku, Bir Hospital, Civil Hospital, Patan Hospital and Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) after a first case of the deadly virus was confirmed in Nepal.

Holding a press conference on Friday, the Ministry had confirmed that a 32-year-old youth who had recently returned from China was diagnosed with the virus, making it a first case in the country.

Spokesperson at the Ministry Mahendra Shrestha said officials from all the hospitals were summoned on Saturday and asked to make necessary arrangements for the treatment.
