LUCKNOW: The Lucknow administration has said that centrally air-conditioned shopping complexes can function without operating the air conditioners from May 26.

District Magistrate Abhishek Prakash stated that shopping complexes in the containment and buffer zones, however, will remain closed.

Shopping complexes, however, should ensure that only one-third shops are open in the complexes.

He said that social distancing should be strictly adhered to.

Likewise, people above the age of 65 years, children below 10 years or pregnant women will not be allowed, Indian media reports have said.

The statement said that there should be mandatory thermal scanners and sanitizers at the entrance of the shopping complex.

Likewise, the staff of all shops should wear masks and gloves, and details of all the visitors should be noted down.

Meanwhile the authorities have also stressed on regular sanitization, using mixture of 3 per cent bleaching powder and 1 per cent hypochloride solution, of the shopping complexes. (With inputs from Agencies)
