PM should brief House on security printing press issue: Khand

CHITWAN: Chief Whip of the Nepali Congress, Bal Krishna Khand, has said that the NC has expressed solidarity with hunger-strike staged by ward chairperson of Madi municipality-1, Krishna Poudel.

After visiting Poudel at Bharatpur Hospital today, NC leader Khand stated that the government should take initiative to save the life of Poudel and address his demands.

He expressed the view that the NC would raise the issue about Poudel’s hunger strike in the Parliament, saying the fast-onto-death staged by the ward chair is for exerting pressure on the bodies concerned to resolve the problems of the people of Madi.

Poudel, who is on a hunger-strike from February 29, has been admitted to Bharatpur Hospital on Monday morning amidst worsening health condition and he is receiving treatment at Incentive Care Unit of Bharatpur Hospital.

On a different note, NC Chief Whip Khand argued that the Prime Minister should brief the Parliament about the issue of the security printing press.
