Roshani Shahi returns to work after long time

KATHMANDU: Roshani Shahi, a ‘victim’ of the attempted-to-rape allegation leveled against former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, has returned to her work after a long time.

Roshani resumed her duties at the Federal Parliament Secretariat in New Baneshwor from Monday.

On September 30 last year, the news involving Mahara attempting to rape his own subordinate official Roshani had hit the headlines.

Mahara was later arrested after Roshani filed a case against him alleging him of attempting to rape her.

Finally, after serving 30 days in police custody and 103 days in judicial custody, Kathmandu District Court gave Mahara a clean chit.

With the clean chit, a suspension imposed on Mahara as a member of the House of Representatives, has been removed.

However, Mahara has not turned up in the parliament yet.  He is busy visiting his constituency in Dang, currently.
