No religious fair at Bishankhu Narayan Temple

LALITPUR: A religious fair that takes place each year at Bishankhu Narayan Temple, on the outskirts of Lalitpur on the Haribodhini Ekadashi in the month of Kartik of the lunar calendar has been cancelled this year due to the COVID crisis.

The famous temple is situated at Godabari Municipality-2 in the district.

According to Mayor Gajendra Maharjan, the religious fair is cancelled this year realizing the threat of possible outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemics.

This year the event falls on November 26 (Mangshir 11).

On this day, people pay homage to lord Vishnu following the fasting.

Haribodhini Ekadashi is believed to be the day when Vishnu wakes up from his slumber and presides over the religious rites across the universe.
